Horsham will host the Australian leg of the 9th World Sailplane Grand Prix in 18meter 22 – 28 January 2018
Planning for the contest is well underway, and the spring preparations of the Horsham airfield have begun.
Registrations are open for this 7day event at www.sgp.aero/australia2018
Closing date for first round of entries and the allocation of world rankings is 27th October 2017.
With excellent thermal producing wheat fields, Grampians National Park close by, and every paddock suitable as an out landing, safe thrilling high speed finishes are likely.
Grand Prix racing in sailplanes is the most competitive, exciting and exhilarating form of sailplane racing, and the chance to participate in this event is open to all pilots in 18meter.
Due to stringent rules regarding Grand Prix racing, only twenty pilots with the highest world ranking will be allowed entry.
All pilots need to register on line at www.sgp.aero/australia2018 with a closing date of October 27 2017 the last day for world ranking. If there are still places after October 27 then pilots will be able to register on a first in best dressed basis.
